Exploring the Region

The Lavender Farm & Sculpture Garden

A visit to the sculpture garden is a must!  Open September to May, Lavandula offers a very European experience where its serenity will lift your spirits. Out in the countryside ten minutes north of Daylesford you’ll find around the cobbled courtyard, a cluster of farmhouse buildings: the house, the Barn, and the Stillroom.  The Lavender Farm has an excellent café.

Hiking and Strolling

Take a relaxing scenic stroll through the Hepburn Spring Reserve, the Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens or around the rolling local farmland. Alternatively, enjoy a challenging hike across rugged escarpments within the Hepburn Springs / Daylesford region. For a serious walk, join the Great Dividing Trail as it passes through the region via the Federation Track from Ballarat to Daylesford, Dry Diggings Track from Daylesford to Castlemaine and the Lerderderg Track from Daylesford to Blackwood.

Local Farmer’s Markets

Take advantage of purchasing some amazing local produce by visiting one or more of the local Farmer’s Markets on every weekend somewhere within the local Hepburn Springs and Daylesford Spa Country region.

Fresh from the farm

Blessed with crisp mountain air, rich fertile soils and purifying mineral springs, the region has long embraced ‘la dolce vita’. Enjoy fine dining at some of Australia’s best restaurants, meet local winemakers at rustic cellar doors and taste fresh produce at farm gates and roadside stalls as you make your way around the region.
